The Jefferson Award has been America’s most prestigious public service award for over forty years. FOX 28 is very proud to be the local media partner of this nonprofit organization. Founded by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, U.S. Senator Robert Taft, Jr., and Samuel Beard in 1972, the Jefferson Awards Foundation highlights outstanding citizens across the country.

This honor can be attributed to someone of any age. According to JAF, local winners are "ordinary people who do extraordinary things without expectation of recognition." To learn more about this foundation, visit their website.

You can also nominate someone for a Jefferson Award right now!

FOX 28 and JAF encourage you to get involved with your community by joining a cause you're passionate about.
