Savannah-Chatham Metro police say a 16-year-old has been charged with the armed robbery of a 70-year-old woman on Savannah’s Southside earlier this week.

The 70-year-old victim was walking to her vehicle at Walmart, 14030 Abercorn St., at about 5 p.m. on Monday, when the suspect approached her with a gun and demanded her keys and money, according to a news release.

Two shoppers heard the woman yell for help and chased after the suspect.
