The Bluffton Police Department Traffic Enforcement Team will be conducting two traffic safety check points on March 16 and March 17, 2018.
The check points are being invoked in order to apprehend impaired drivers and to enforce all other traffic safety laws.
In a release, BPD stated, "The Bluffton Police Department encourages everyone to enjoy their St. Patrick’s Day weekend, and to do so responsibly. It is our objective to ensure that motorists are being safe and responsible during this St. Patrick’s Day weekend."
Motorists can expect to see a larger police presence throughout the weekend.
The check points are as follows:
- March 16th, 2018 from 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. at Bluffton Parkway West Bound / Trotting Hill Lane
- March 17th, 2018 from 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. at Okatie Highway (SC 170) / Heritage Parkway
By law, South Carolina Law Enforcement agencies have to give the public notice for any traffic safety check points.
