Elderly man hit by car in Savannah

Savannah-Chatham Metro police are investigating a car versus pedestrian crash near the intersection of Wild Heron and Grove Point roads.

At about 10:30 Monday night, the driver was traveling on Grove Point Road when a 79-year-old man reportedly attempted to cross the road, according to a news release.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment, and is listed in serious condition, according to police.

No other injuries were reported.

The Traffic Investigation Unit responded to the scene. This investigation is ongoing.
