Gov. Henry McMaster and South Carolina officials held a news conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday to update the public on the impacts from Tropical Storm Irma.

McMaster and other state officials said there have been two deaths in the state as a result of Irma.

A man in Calhoun Falls, in Abbeville County, died when he was killed by a falling limb while clearing debris outside his home. There was also a deadly crash on I-77 where a 21-year-old man, who was driving too fast for conditions, was killed.

Tuesday morning McMaster said he has lifted the evacuation orders, effective at 9:15 a.m., for all barrier islands.

He said locals officials will restrict access to Edisto Beach, Hunting, Fripp and Harbor Islands.
