Officials find guns, machetes, cattle prod after man flees from traffic stop

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police have arrested a man for drugs, firearms, and traffic-related offenses.

Investigators say Nathaniel Harvey was pulled over for a traffic stop near Pennsylvania Avenue and Indiana Avenue on May 12.

But, officers say he fled the stop and nearly hit a police car.

The Strategic Investigation Unit secured warrants for Harvey and arrested him on Tuesday, May 16.

Detectives say he had a stolen firearm with him at the time of his arrest.

A press release also noted that investigators found ammunition, body armor, drugs, machetes, a cattle prod, and six other guns inside Harvey’s home.

Harvey is charged with felony fleeing to elude, theft by receiving stolen property, drug offenses, and traffic offenses.
