Police: 10-year-old boy seriously injured by car pushed from parking space

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police continue to investigate a crash at the Bradley Pointe Apartments Monday night that seriously injured a child.

Around 9:20 p.m., 24-year-old Jalissa Martin was attempting to push her vehicle from a parking space, when it lurched forward, according to a news release

The vehicle jumped the curb and struck a 10-year-old boy, the release said.

The boy suffered life-threatening injuries and he was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

The SCMPD Traffic Investigation Unit responded to the scene.

The investigation is still ongoing. No charges have been filed.
