Savannah police arrest SunTrust Bank robbery suspect

The Savannah Police Department has arrested a man wanted for robbing a bank Tuesday afternoon, according to a release.

Frederick Cooks, 46, was taken into custody the morning of Monday, April 16, 2018 had charged with armed robbery, police say.

Detectives say Cooks entered the SunTrust Bank at 2505 Abercorn Street around 12:50 p.m.

He reportedly gave the cashier a note demanding cash. That note indicated that the man had a weapon, but he did not display one, according to the release. After he was given the cash, the Cooks left.

Cooks was described to be about six feet tall and wearing a light brown jacket and khaki pants, as described in the release.
