The victim in Saturday afternoon's fatal Savannah State University shooting has been identified, according to a release from the university.
Campus was placed on lockdown for about two hours Saturday as soon as the call came in that a man had been shot near University Commons.
Kaleel Shakur Clarke sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Health for treatment, where he later died from his injuries.
Phillip Dayan Burke has been identified as the man arrested in connection to the shooting, according to the release.
Neither men were students at the University.
The investigation is still ongoing.
