A still image from video provided by Brian Steimke via KCBS and CNN Newsource shows a car being dragged by a big rig Wednesday, April 19, 2017, on Interstate 5 in California.

A car was dragged by a semitruck following a crash Wednesday on Interstate 15 at the Cajon Pass.

The 62-year-old truck driver, from Bakersfield, was hauling two trailers filled with Grimmway Farms carrots when he changed lanes to his left and collided with a Nissan Maxima. The California Highway Patrol said the driver of the Nissan was trying to pass the big rig when the crash happened.

The Nissan got lodged underneath the back trailer and was dragged for about .7 of a mile, according to the CHP. Other reports had the car getting dragged for 4 miles.

CBS in Los Angeles reports other motorists honked at the truck driver, trying to get his attention so he'd stop. The driver of the Nissan, a 34-year-old man from Oak Hills, waved for help as another driver caught the situation on cellphone video.

The truck driver stopped after a witness pulled in front of the big rig and stopped.

The CHP said the truck driver claimed to have no idea that he'd hit the car.

The driver of the car wasn't hurt, or at least not seriously. He wasn't taken to a hospital, the CHP said.
