Tim McGinnis has lived in Savannah off and on since he was 8 years old.
He attended Armstrong Atlantic State University, and is a graduate of Georgia Southern University. He started his career in television news at WSAV-TV in Savannah in 1995.
Tim covered local government during his time in Savannah, and spent time covering the Third Infantry Division in Kuwait in the days leading up to the Iraq War in 2003.
After spending about a decade covering news in Savannah, he moved to Peoria, Illinois, where he was anchor and managing editor at WHOI-TV. In 2009 he returned South to WPDE in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where he has worked since.
Now Tim is honored to return to the area where he started his television career and looks forward to reconnecting with people in the Coastal Empire and Low Country.
Tim married Michelle (Thomas) McGinnis, a Savannah native, in 2003. They have two children.
