WATCH: EF-0 tornado touches down in Wayne County

An EF-0 tornado touched down in Wayne County Thursday evening, confirmed by the Wayne County Emergency Management.

A viewer sent in a video of the tornado which happened around 6 p.m. on Burch Farms and Dixie Roads in Screven, Ga.

No one was injured but several homes were damaged.

It was the 11th tornado to hit the state of Georgia this year.

According to officials, the tornado only touched down for a couple of minutes and was a very weak one.

Tornadoes this time of year do happen. Even though tornadoes can happen at any time of year, May represents about 11% of the tornadoes the state of Georgia sees every year.
