WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - The allegations of sexual misconduct against Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., are "very, very credible," Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich., says.

Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill Thursday, Peters said, "I'm extremely troubled by all of the allegations. I think they're very, very credible."

He added, "If the facts are indeed what they appear to be, I think it's very clear that it'll be very difficult for [Conyers] to continue to represent the people of his district."

On Thursday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., also called the accusations credible and said 88-year-old Conyers should resign.
