WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) -- Users across the United States and Europe are experiencing difficulties with sending messages on Snapchat.

The Daily Mail reports users are prompted with a "failed to send" alert and a red exclamation point next to the messages they're trying to transmit.

Down Detector, a site that detects when websites are down, says that users started to experience difficulties around 11:00 a.m. eastern time.

In a statement released via Twitter, Snapchat says they are looking into the issue.
