18-year old charged with murder in Savannah

On Sunday evening, Savannah Police responded to a call of a car into a building in the 900 block of Carter Street. When they got there, they found the driver, 19-year old Jernard Burton had been shot.

Wednesday, police arrested 18-year old Jevon Williams and charged him with murdering Burton.

Detectives say they believe the shooting happened near W. Gwinnett Street and Magazine Avenue, and Burton was able to drive to the Carter Street location after he had been shot. The car he was driving had been stolen on Tuesday.
