Whitmarsh Island, Ga. (WTGS FOX 28) -- A Savannah woman is facing DUI and homicide charges after a deadly crash Sunday night on Whitmarsh Island.
On Aug. 19 around 6:05 p.m., police say Alice Thomson-Caine,75, of Savannah, was driving northbound in a 2005 Volvo V70 when she failed to yield and turned left from Mapmaker Lane onto Highway 80.
A man driving eastbound on Highway 80 on a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle then entered the intersection, hitting the side of Thomson-Caine's car.
Thomson-Caine was not injured in the wreck. The driver of the motorcycle, Clinton Jones, 39, of Savannah, died as a result the crash.
She is charged with homicide by vehicle in the first degree, DUI and failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign, according to a release.
The wreck is still under investigation by the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team.
