Annual DineSouth event draws large crowd Thursday night

Restaurants from around Savannah came together to serve their best dishes Thursday night at the annual DineSouth event.

South Magazine hosts the event every year. They said they were expecting nearly 1,000 people.

Michael Brooks, the publisher and creative director for the magazine, said they always look forward to this event.

"It's our 11th Annual DineSouth and this is a big event that we're doing to bring people together for the celebration of the greatest food in the south," said Brooks.

In addition those dishes, crowds were also excited to see American Idol Winner Candice Glover and Velvet Caravan perform.

Plus, the event wasn't just about food and entertainment; it helps out a great cause. All proceeds from the event go to the Salvation Army.
