AT&T and Verizon customers may have 911 problems
People with cellphones who use AT&T or Verizon as their carriers may have some issues getting full functionality when they call 911.
The problem is apparently affecting areas across the Southeastern part of the country.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's office says the problem is with the 911 system not being able to get the information on where or what phone number the call is coming from.
Officials say all AT&T and Verizon cellphone customers can still get through to the dispatchers by calling 911 and get emergency help.
