First look at re-designed Federal Courthouse Annex

(General Services Administration)

We're getting our first look at the new, redesigned Savannah Federal Courthouse Annex.

The General Services Administration said the revised design complements the unique character of the historic district.

The 35,000 square-foot building will be on the south trust lot of the property, between Telfair and Wright Square.

It will house a new bankruptcy courtroom as well as a new office for the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services System.

Construction is scheduled to start later this year and is supposed to be finished in the fall of 2020, the same time renovations to the Tomochici Federal Building are supposed to be completed.
