Five vehicles were stolen overnight from the Butler Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep dealership in Beaufort, according to an advisory.

Employees reported the theft Tuesday morning, adding that vehicle keys were stolen and used to steal the five vehicles from the lot.

As the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office investigated at the scene, deputies from Colleton County told them they had been involved in a high-speed chase at 8 a.m. with someone driving a white Dodge Durango-which was later confirmed to be one of the stolen cars. The driver of the Durango was apprehended, according to the advisory.

Three other cars were recovered in Charleston County Tuesday morning. As of Tuesday afternoon, the only vehicle they're still looking for is a 2018 white Dodge Durango SXT.

Investigators with Beaufort, Colleton and Charleston Counties are working to identify the subjects involved in the thefts. The one suspect in custody in Colleton County and a list of his charges has yet to be released.

We will update this story as that information becomes available.
