Georgia School Nutrition Association holds healthy food conference
More than 200 vendors filled the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center for the 63rd annual Georgia School Nutrition Association Conference.
The conference aimed to showcase new food products available to provide Georgia school children with healthy meals.
Members of the organization were even able to taste test some of the products.
Organization leaders hope this conference reminds members that healthy meals are crucial to a child's education.
“We are here to help children learn," said President- elect of the Georgia School Nutrition Association, Cheryl Jones. "We are an integral part of education. We all know that children can’t learn when they’re hungry and we want their school lunches to not just be nutritious but delicious.”
Next year's conference will be held April 11-13 in Athens, GA.
