Jerry Counihan, the Grand Marshal of the 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Parade, led the 16th annual St. Peter the Apostle Bike Parade on Thursday.

St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School’s Bike Parade include Counihan's grandson, Braeden, and his granddaughter, Adri. Braeden wore his official sash, while his sister wore a special aide sash.

The hour-long ride allowed the children to trade their traditional uniform in for all things green!

Counihan officially took over his role at the investiture ceremony on March 3.

His brother, sons, 5-year-old grandson, and friends were given the sashes of the special aids.

Counihan says it's a great honor to have this role.

"This is a faith-based celebration, the feast of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland," said Counihan.

It shows when he joins alongside his grandchildren to celebrate the patron saint.
