SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTGS) -- Are you interested in starting your own business?
Small Business Day in Savannah will give you the tools and information you need to launch it.
It's a free event coming up on Feb. 23 at the Savannah Convention Center. It starts at 10 a.m., and there will be different sessions throughout the day.
The founder of the program, J.R. McNair, said it'll teach you about business development, branding and marketing, and even help you fine tune your business idea.
McNair said they will invest $1.8 million to give free resources to attendees to help them launch their business. They'll offer things like the first six months of your website free.
He previewed the event Thursday at The Creative Coast and told entrepreneurs and city leaders why people in Savannah should come to this event.
"Small Business Day helps to not give them everything, but it gives them exactly what they need just to get started, that website, that incorporation that information all the things they need to get over that hump and get going," said McNair.
More than 1,500 people have already signed up and there's about 300 spots left.
