In two weeks, voters in Georgia will head to the polls of the runoff to the primary election to determine who will be on the ballot in November.

Today, one of the two republican candidates for Lieutenant Governor visited our area.

Geoff Duncan stopped by our FOX 28 studio today to talk about some of the issues that are specific to us here in the Coastal Empire.

He says we need to better educate our kids, reduce income tax and use technology to grow the economy.

He also says he's been hoping to see the port expand for a long time.

"If we can continue to expand the opportunities and the growth here, it's going to give us an opportunity, not just about freight coming in and out, but the unique business story to tell is that it creates business opportunities inland," said Duncan.

He is running against David Shafer for the republican nomination.

One of them will face democratic candidate Sarah Riggs Amico.

The runoff election will be on July 24.
