Ludowici Police Chief killed after multiple county chase


Ludowici Police Chief Frank McClelland Jr. was one of two people killed after a two county police chase late Saturday night.

Georgia State Patrol confirmed to FOX 28 that McClelland Jr. and Marvin Pope, were killed.

Officials say the chase started in Liberty County before it ended when the suspect's vehicle crashed at a gas station along Highway 84 in Ludowici.

Officials say McClellend was outside of his vehicle when he was hit.

Police did arrest the driver, Daniel Toronto Hill, on scene.

He is facing two murder charges, two vehicular homicide charges, and DUI, along with several other traffic violations.

Georgia State Patrol is leading the investigation.
