Man seriously injured after car crashes into tree

Savannah Police are investigating a single car crash that injured two people.

Investigators say it happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard and Anderson Street.

Savannah Police Department's Traffic Investigation Unit said the 33-year-old driver was heading north on MLK Jr. Boulevard near Henderson Street when he entered the median, lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree.

They say he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and that a passenger in the car sustained minor injuries.

The Traffic Investigation Unit is still investigating the crash.
