If you've always wanted to work in law enforcement but felt like you didn't have the time to commit to becoming a full time police officer, you might be interested in the Georgia Public Safety Training Center's new program.

The center will be running a part-time police academy. The academy will allow anyone living in the coastal region to become a reserve police officer, after some training of course.

They are searching for at least 15 candidates for the academy, which is projected to launch on July 7, 2018. Classes will be held two evenings during the week and all day on Saturday.

Anyone who is interested in signing up for the academy should contact the Georgia Public Safety Training Center by May 1, 2018 by phone at (912) 644-7766 or by e-mail at
