Police identify suspect in shooting that killed one, injured another


Police have identified a suspect in a shooting that killed one and injured another.

According to a news release, the shooting happened on Oct. 8 around 6:55 p.m. on Betty Drive.

Responding officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Shawn Rhineheart, 22, suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Around that same time, police say Robert Reeves, 23, arrived at an area hospital by private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say Rhineheart succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

Investigators say Jose Carrillo, 22, has been identified as a suspect in the shooting. He is now wanted for murder.

Carrillo is described as standing approximately 5 feet 5 inches and weighing about 135 pounds.

Police say Carrillo is known to frequent Garden City and Port Wentworth. He may be driving a white Toyota Corolla with a Georgia license plate CGA7188, or a gray Nissan Altima with Georgia license plate PTM9095.

Anyone with information about Carrillo's location is asked to call 911. A confidential tip line is also open directly to investigators at 912-525-3124.
