Prohibition Savannah invites you to salute area firefighters with an Irish coffee
The Prohibition Savannah Restaurant needs your help this St. Patrick's Day week to break a world record and raise money for area firefighters.
The restaurant will attempt to break the world record for most Irish coffees sold in a single day. The current record holder is the Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco, Calif.
The event will take place at the Prohibition Savannah Restaurant at 125 MLK Boulevard on Thursday, March 15, 2018 between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m.
Prohibition Savannah's owners, James Walsh, Ray Burns and Jim McCourt are all from Belfast, Ireland. They opened their first location in Charleston four years ago.
Retired firefighter Stephen Duffy and Chef Greg Garrison joined them as partners to open the Savannah location in May 2017.
They have agreed to give a percentage of the proceeds for every Irish coffee sold during the event to the Savannah Firefighters Association's Fallen Firefighters Fund.
