Savannah Arts Academy students prepare for national walkout
Savannah Arts Academy students are planning "Enough! National School Walkout" for Wednesday, March 14 at 10 a.m.
The walkout is student lead and organized.
On Monday night, students gathered to prepare their signs and speeches. Among them was SAA student, Isaac Lichtman.
"Raising attention to the issue and putting it on the national level, unifying the student body," said Lichtman.
Mason Rinalducci is another student planning on walking out, also preparing for the big day.
"I think that civic engagement is an important part of a democratic society and my generation is going to be the generation that is going to hopefully change some things," he said.
The national walkout is expected to last at least 17 minutes in honor of the 17 lives lost in the Parkland, Fla. shooting and will be held exactly one month from when the shooting took place.
