Statesboro police arrest 2, seek 2 wanted in armed robbery

The Statesboro Police Department arrested two suspects in connection to an armed robbery earlier this month, according to a release.

On Nov. 2 around 11:54 p.m., officers responded to the Hudson apartment complex on South Main Street in reference to an armed robbery. The victims told police they were robbed at gunpoint by three men while taking out their trash. The suspects then fled the scene on foot. According to police, there were no injuries reported.

A 16-year-old male juvenile of Statesboro was charged with one count of armed robbery-street-gun, one count of theft by receiving stolen property and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Rodney A. Hawkins, 18, of Statesboro was charged with one count of theft by receiving stolen property.

Detectives have also identified two additional suspects and are actively looking for them. Warrants have been obtained for their arrest.
