SC State's Darius Leonard proposes to girlfriend following win on senior day

ORANGEBURG, SC (WACH) -- As if Senior Day wasn't already a special day for South Carolina State linebacker Darius Leonard, then proposing to his girlfriend after the Bulldogs' 33-15 win over Hampton will surly do it - especially since she said yes.

After playing in his final game at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium, Leonard dropped to one knee before the team left the field to propose to his girlfriend, Kayla Michelle Sanderson. Surrounded by his teammates, friends and fans, the 2016 MEAC Defensive Player of the Year popped the question and got the answer he hoped for - Yes!

The special moment came after a phenomenal game by Leonard, in which he recorded eight tackles, two tackles for loss and two sacks. The NFL hopeful now has 103 tackles on the season.

SC State will play their final game of the year next Saturday at Savannah State.
