Wife of deployed soldier found dead at Fort Stewart home
The wife of a deployed Fort Stewart soldier was found dead in her on-post residence at around 9 p.m. Tuesday night, according to Kevin Larson with the Public Affairs Office of Fort Stewart.
Andrea Boykins, 24, was found after the Military Police got a request from a relative to conduct a welfare check.
Special Agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command are leading the investigation and treating this as a homicide investigation, Larson said.
"At this point in the investigation we believe this was an isolated incident and the victim possibly knew her assailant. We have no reason or evidence to believe that the Fort Stewart community is at further risk related to this tragic death," said Christopher Grey, spokesman for Army CID.
Her husband, a 1st Armored Brigade, 3rd ID Soldier, has returned from deployment to South Korea, and is being assisted by his chain of command, according to Fort Stewart Public Affairs.
A Be On the Lookout has been issued statewide for a vehicle whose driver may have information about the death. The vehicle is a Black 2018 Honda Accord with a Georgia License Plate RLQ1762.
Larson said more information will be released at the appropriate time.
