BIDDEFORD, Maine (WGME) – A member of the first family is heading to Maine.

First daughter Ivanka Trump will be in Biddeford Friday to talk tax reform.

President of Volk Packaging Derek Volk says being told about Trump's visit was a surprise.

Along with President Donald Trump's older daughter, Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, will be in attendance, as will U.S. Treasurer Jovita Carranza.

Volk says it will be a sort of town hall, starting with a moderated discussion on President Trump's tax plan.

It is private, but Volk says his phone has been ringing off the hook with people interested in visiting.

For 50 years Volk Packaging has been manufacturing boxes and Volk says he's honored by the visit.

"Our customers represent a broad range of the economic environment here in the United States, so I think we're a great place to host something like this," Volk said.

Ivanka Trump is also the president's adviser.

The event is set to start at 12:15 p.m.
